Machinist

Machinist

Description

Join us for Machinist (Lathe Machining), a fundamental process in mechanical engineering primarily used for shaping materials, typically metals, by removing excess material. The workpiece is rotated about its axis, while a cutting tool is applied to it to create cylindrical, conical, or even complex shapes with high precision. Participants can showcase their talents, compete for exciting prizes, and receive feedback from a panel of esteemed judges at our mechanical symposium. This event offers attendees insights into both the fundamental principles and the latest innovations in the field.

Guidelines

  1. Teams can have a maximum of two members. Selection will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
  2. Each team will have a specific timeframe of 30 minutes to complete their task.
  3. The material to be machined will be supplied.
  4. All participants are required to wear leather shoes.
  5. Goggles and gloves will be supplied to all participants.
  6. Participants will be given a specific design and set of dimensions.
  7. Judging will be based on accuracy, surface finish, and time management.
